Sizing FAQ
Q: I want to buy the LUP as a gift, but I'm not sure of the toe
size of the person the gift is for. What should I do?
A: You can give a footcandy gift in three ways: Purchase a
footcandy gift certificate and let the gift recipient choose the
design of their choice. You can also choose the metal and design, then
write us at sales@footcandy.com
with the shoe size and/or finger size of the gifted. Armed with
knowledge, we are actually pretty good at estimating size. And if we
guess wrong? Exchanges are not a problem.
Q: What are the most common sizes for women?
A: The most common sizes for women are 3 and 4.
Q: What are the most common sizes for men?
A: The most common sizes for men are 5 and 6.
Metal FAQ
Q: What is the difference between 14k and 18k gold?
A: The difference is the amount of gold in the piece. A 14k gold
toe ring is 58.3% gold, while an 18k gold toe ring is 75.0% gold. The
difference is reflected in the color as well. Women love 18k gold
because of the richer gold color. We recommend 18k with our LUP Loded
line as it really makes precious stones pop.
Q: How wide is the LUP line of toe rings?
A: The LUP Lite line is approximately 2mm wide – perfect for
stacking. The LUP Loded is slightly wider.
Q: What does the blast finish look like?
A: Our “blast” finish is achieved by giving the LUP a light
sandblasting. The look is a light matte affect that is truly stunning.
Q: What is the difference between platinum and white gold?
There are many differences, but the most significant ones are color
and strength. Platinum is much harder and stronger than 14K white
gold. If you think you will wear your toe ring for many years to come,
platinum is the ultimate. If you are new to the toe ring arena, you
might want to start off with the 14K white gold.
Q: Are footcandy toe rings solid gold or gold plated? Are
they cuffs or full bands?
A: All footcandy precious metal toe rings are solid gold or
platinum. They are not cuffs but full bands. Each LUP is stamped
inside with the karat marking and the LUP logo.
Toe Ring FAQ
Q: What if I want to give the LUP as a gift and don't know what
size to get?
A: If you want to give the LUP as a gift, choose the LUP you want
to give and email your request to us. We will ask you a couple
questions and send you the most common size for that category. If the
LUP is too large or small, we will be happy to exchange it for you.
Q: Should I wear my LUP in the center of my toe or at the toe
base?
A: This is a very personal question and depends on your toe shape
and personal taste. The center is ideal is your toe joints are
slightly larger in the middle. If the toe starts off larger at the tip
and gets increasingly narrower on the way down then the base will be
where the LUP will naturally rest at the toe base.
Q: What toe should I wear my LUP on?
A: The most comfortable toe to wear a LUP on is your index toe.
This is because there is extra space between the big toe and the index
toe, giving the LUP a little more room to adjust. However, people who
wear toe rings are as individual as the toes they wear them on so be
yourself. We have clients who wear one ring on the pinkie toe and
clients who will wear 5 and 6 rings scattered among various toes.
Q: Is it comfortable to wear the LUP all the time?
A: We want you to wear your LUP all the time! Day, evening, playing
basketball, in stilettos, in the shower, skiing, well, you get the
idea. If you find your LUP is not comfortable, please contact us to
exchange it for the perfect size.
Q: What is the difference between the LUP Lite and LUP
Loded?
A: Our simple line of perfect bands is the LUP Lite. A beautiful,
delicate band of gold or platinum in your choice of shine or blast
finish. Our Loded line consists of the same simple band with the
addition of 6 inlaid full cut diamonds, rubies or sapphires.
Q: Will my LUP tarnish over time?
A: Your LUP will never tarnish. Polish it up once a month or so to
keep up the finish.
Q: Will my LUP fit on my pinkie?
A: Chances are high - about 80% of you can wear your LUP as a
pinkie ring. We have even sold them as wedding rings!
Q: How many rings can a one wear comfortably?
A: I can wear four rings comfortably, but I have one client who
wears six for special occasions. It all comes down to the toe shape.
Long toes can hold more rings – you get the idea. Remember to be
careful when going through an airport metal detector.
Anklet FAQ
Q: What is your standard anklet length?
A: All footcandy anklets are nine inches in length, unless
otherwise stated. Please email us to confirm if custom sizes are
available.
Men's FAQ
Q: What is the most common size for men?
A: The most common sizes for men are 5 and 6.
Q: What LUP is best for men?
A: Once again this is completely a matter of personal opinion, but
sales show that the LUP Lite in shine is the biggest seller in both
gold and platinum. C’mon guys be yourself and reap the rewards.
Q: What styles are most popular for men?
A: We have found that men prefer white metals. Platinum and 14KW
are the most popular.
Q: What toes do men wear toe rings on?
A: We recommend that men wear the toe ring on the ring-toe (index
toe), same like your female counterparts. Take advantage of that extra
bit of space between your big toe and the “ring-toe.”
Q: What is the difference between Platinum and 14K white gold?
A: There are many differences, but the most important are color and
strength. Platinum is much harder and stronger than 14K white gold. If
you think you will wear your toe ring for many years to come, platinum
is the ultimate. If you are new to the toe ring arena, you might want
to start off with the 14K white gold.
